Random Direction Wheel: Where to Go Next

Sometimes the question is not "which option?" but "which way?" The Directions preset loads the compass points into the wheel โ€” the four main directions and the points between them โ€” so a spin can settle where to go, move, or look next.

What it is and how to use it

Select Directions from the presets and the wheel fills with default direction entries, one per slice. Spin, and the pointer stops on a direction. It runs in the browser, needs no install, and a basic spin needs no account.

The entries are easy to change. Keep only the four directions you will actually walk, rename them to something like "left, right, straight, turn around", or replace the whole list with your own. Turning the entry gap off keeps a short list looking clean. Save it to your free account and next time it opens exactly as you left it.

When it comes in handy

  • Outdoor games โ€” orienteering, treasure hunts, and life-size board games all need a next move.
  • A walk with no plan โ€” when nobody can agree on a route, let the wheel point the way.
  • Photo challenges โ€” take one random direction, walk that way, and shoot what you find.
  • Party dares โ€” the "do whatever the wheel says" game works with almost any group.

Get better results

If you are using it for several rounds in a row, turn on elimination mode so a direction that has already come up leaves the wheel and the others get their turn.

Match the spin speed to the mood: slow if you want a little ceremony, fast if you are firing off quick answers. Pick a winning sound or mute it, depending on where you are.

When you share a screen with other people, add a title such as "Where to go today" so everyone understands the rules without being told. If the direction will actually be followed, spin it before the group walks off, not after.

Direction decisions are easy to accept when nobody had a preference to defend. open the wheel, spin it, and actually walk that way.
